With the success of Bea Alonzo’s latest movie “Miss You Like Crazy” which reunited her with Box-Office King John Lloyd Cruz (they were last seen together in “One More Chance,” also from Star Cinema and the Philippine adaptation of “I Love Betty La Fea”), Bea’s life colors have become brighter.
Despite being loveless, Bea expressed her life to be “colorful. Lagi namang colorful. Depende, may purple, may pink, may rainbow, minsan may dark, gray, black. Pero generally, I guess pastel colors, makulay pero hindi neon.”
To add more color to her life, she was chosen to be the newest celebrity endorser of Moisture Intense Lipstick of Colour Collection from the premier cosmetics line of Tupperware Brands Philippines. To this, Bea said, “I love it. It’s a pleasure na maihelera kina Mikee (Cojuangco), Isabel (Oli) and Georgina (Wilson). Plus, being a celebrity, I think it’s my responsibility to my public to give them something that I would use too.”
At the recent press launch held at the Bahia Rooftop of Intercontinental Hotel in Makati, Bea shared her favorite products in time for summer. “I think perfect for summer ang Moisture Intense Purple Paradise lipstick because it’s more natural. What I love about Colour Collection is that it protects the skin, lalo na ako I’m exposed to the sun lagi. As an actress, dapat unahin mo ang physical [aspect] and makeup helps a lot everyday. Kapag lumalabas ako ng house without make up, even lipstick, I feel naked,” she said.
Going for more
mature roles
Bea, only 22, has not only become one of the country’s finest actresses, but also a sought-after endorser, host, and singer. But what makes Bea fulfilled these days is the fact that she is growing more mature as an actress.
She said, “Natutuwa ako kasi parang nabi-break ko na yung mababait kong characters, yung mga usual prim and proper characters ko. I’m so happy kasi somehow nagma-mature na ako. Pinagkakatiwalaan na nila ako ng mga ganung [mature] klaseng roles. I’m happy and excited [for more mature roles in the future].”
Bea is set to do a teleserye with Gretchen Barretto (the supposed Claudine-Gretchen Barretto tandem didn’t materialize because of the younger Barretto’s transfer to GMA-7). While doing the teleserye (which as of press time has a working title “Magkaribal”), Bea revealed that she will do another Star Cinema movie, “Sa’yo Lamang” to be helmed by Laurice Guillen. According to her, she will be working with Lorna Tolentino, Coco Martin, Erich Gonzales, Enchong Dee among others. “It’s a family drama. Parang ito yung sagot ni direk [Laurice] after ‘Tanging Yaman,’” she related.
This Holy Week, Bea revealed that she will be working as part of the Heartthrobs concert in the US. “Wala akong vacation. Every year ganoon naman. We will be touring six cities in the US. This time, bukod sa heartthrobs Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby, also with us are John Lloyd Cruz, Pokwang, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Richard Poon.”
Bea added, “It’s nice to be a guest sa mga concerts nila. Yung mga frustrations mo kapag nagvi-video-oke ka dun mo nailalabas and you’re getting paid for it. Tapos nakakapunta ka sa mga places you’ve never been before. So ang saya.”
