Actor, host, and entrepreneur Marvin Agustin will continue his archery training during the Holy Week aside, of course, from spending quality time with his adorable twins, Sebastian and Santiago.
In Holy Weeks past, Marvin made the most of the long break by heading to some of the country's popular beaches along with friends and fellow celebrities. Now he would rather stay home in the city to rest together with his kids.
"Holy Week is the only time that I get to spend quality time with them [Sebastian and Santiago]. Medyo crowded na din kasi 'yong mga beaches kaya I just stay home," Marvin said to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the launching of Party Pilipinas last March 28.
MENTAL GAME. Marvin has his bows and arrows as well to keep him company throughout the holidays. He eyes competing in Cebu at the end of April, saying, "Para naman may kahinatnan 'yong mga training na pinaggagagawa ko."
He says he trains "almost every day," usually at the spacious University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City, together with his coach.
The scheduled Cebu archery event will also serve as a qualifying tournament for the competitors aspiring to represent the country in the upcoming 16th Asian Games to be held this year on November 12 to 27 in Guangzhou, China.
The stakes are obviously high, but Marvin isn't thinking too much of the pressure and possible disappointment should he fail to advance in the national tournament. Archery, he said, is more of a mental game than mere method.
"I just play my game," he smiled. "Dapat lagi ka lang positive kasi minsan, kahit anong ganda ng practice mo pero nasira 'yong araw on that day, sira na laro mo. You can't really expect anything, you just shoot."
