Judy Ann’s miscarriage rumor irks Mommy Carol

Mommy Carol Santos was irked with the news that broke out last week concerning her daughter Judy Ann supposedly having a miscarriage.

“Alam mo ‘yun nga ‘yung gusto kong i-klaro. Nag-text sa’kin si TinTin Bersola (wife of TV and radio anchor Julius Babao) eh. Sabi niya ‘Mommy is it true na na-miscarriage si Juday?’ Kasi nasa DZMM daw.

“Sabi ko, eh ka-text ko lang si Juday ngayon. She’s on her way to a meeting with [ABS-CBN] sa Greenbelt sa Makati. Alangan namang nagte-text siya sa’kin nang nagmi-miscarriage siya?” Mommy Carol clarified in a taped interview on “Cinema News,” March 27.

The rumor was initially fanned via Twitter on March 22 by a certain “@marie0702,” who is said to have tweeted to various showbiz personalities, “Pls RT Judy Anne Santos got miscarriage 2 hours ago.....”

The tweet alarmed many fans as well as most of the couple's close friends.

Actress Sunshine Cruz, wife of Cesar Montano, immediately dispelled the malicious post, via twitter writing, “Dear, wag ganyan!!! Hindi po ito totoo tweeps!”

She warned her followers not to believe “Marie.”

“Tweeps! A certain maria here on twitter is spreading that judy anne had a miscarriage.. NOT TRUE fyi! Wag sana ganun. Hindi nakakatawa,” she posted.

Newscaster Julius Babao, who is also friends with the couple, said he immediately tried to reach Ryan [Judy Ann's husband] after he had spotted the post.

“Ang una kong ginawa is to confirm it with Ryan. Ang sabi niya there is no threat to her pregnancy at all. So walang katotohanan na si Juday ay nakunan,” he said in a separate interview.

When sought, the showbiz couple refused to personally comment.

Mommy Carol surmised that the report was fabricated by some fans seemingly disapproving of Judy Ann and Ryan’s relationship.

“Hindi talaga tumitigil ‘tong mga taong ito. May mga fans eh, na I don’t know if [it’s because] they don’t want Juday for Ryan or it’s the other way na they don’t want Ryan naman for Juday,” she said.

While the “Habang May Buhay” lead actress seems unaffected by the issue, Mommy Carol confessed that she is "irritated," particularly because her still-unborn innocent grandchild is getting dragged into gossip.

“Ini-involve nila ‘yung sanggol na wala pang malay. Alam mo ‘yun? Hindi pa ba kayo natuwa na si Judy Ann, happily married? Na merong isang taong nagmamahal… talagang nagka-inlaban ‘yung dalawa. I mean, there’s no question about it.

“Alam naman namin ‘yung totoo. Pero ako as a mother, ako ‘yung nag-iinit eh. Ako ‘yung naiirita dito sa mga taong walang magawa. Maawa naman kayo,” said she.
