Judy Ann Santos admits that she got impatient while waiting for Habang May Buhay

After working on this soap opera for a few years and after being handled by five different directors, Judy Ann Santos will finally topbill another soap opera in her home network, ABS-CBN. Her last dramatic TV project was Ysabella, which aired in 2007. This time, Juday trades her chef's hat for a white uniform as she brings life to a penniless nurse who struggled to finish her studies so she could take care of her ailing mother (portrayed by Gina Alajar).

"I play the role of Jane Alcantara. Ako yung batang nangarap maging nurse, para maalagaan yung nanay niya," says Juday (Judy Ann's nickname) "And at the same time nag-nurse siya kasi maliban sa gusto niyang matupad yung mag pangarap niya, meron siyang mga taong hinahanap para makapaghiganti at makahanap ng hustisya."

To prepare for her role, Juday was trained by the Philippine Nurses Association and they had doctors and nurses present during their taping days so they could ensure that the medical procedures done were accurate. This training proved to be a memorable experience for Juday.

"Memorable para sa 'kin yung nag-immerse ako with the nurses.

Habang May Buhay was shot mostly in the Mt. Sinai hospital in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Juday how this soap opera changed her thoughts on nurses.

There were other directors who handled this project before it was finally completed by Wenn Deramas. These included Mark Meily, Jerry Sineneng, Andoy Ranay, and Malou Sevilla.

Juday revealed that 70 percent of the pilot episode was changed and they removed some scenes that they shot in the United States.

GLADYS REYES AS KONTRABIDA. How does it feel to be trading slaps with her former archenemy in Mara Clara, Gladys Reyes?

Pero other than that, yung rapport namin when it comes to doing things together mas feeling ko mas gumanda.

"Kumbaga sorry-han muna bago kami nag-eksena tas nagtawanan na after. At pareho naming inamin na matatanda na kami kasi hingal na hingal kami pagkatapos ginawa yung sabunutan. Parang mapuputulan ako ng ugat!

"Excited ako kasi magkaibang magkaiba yung ginagwa namin ni Gladys from George and Cecil [their sitcom on ABS-CBN].

What are the unforgettable scenes that she did for this series?

ON HER SUPPOSED TRANSFER. The wife of actor Ryan Agoncillo also took this opportunity to clarify rumors stating that she wanted to transfer to rival station GMA-7 in the past.

"Yun yata yung time na nag-offer ang GMA-7 noong time na magre-renew din ako ng kontrata sa ABS-CBN. Nag-usap din naman kami ng ABS-CBN about it. And if ever naman na dumating yung time na mag-i-ibang bakuran ako or something it will all [pass through] a formal process. But at the end of the day, you make a point to clear things out. So okay na."

Since there was a long delay before this soap opera was aired, did she feel impatient about it?

So naniniwala ako na kailangan pang pagandahin. Dapat gawan talaga ng paraan. Medyo natagalan lang talaga...Sayang yung ilang taon na nagdaan na I could have done a lot, more series or kung ano man.

Why did she decide to stay with the Kapamilya Network?

"Pero in fairness to the management, they make it a point naman to talk to me and parang patch things up...Make it up and meet halfway.
