Christian Bautista has four leading ladies in the music video of "Beautiful Girl"

"Gusto kong bumalik uli sa acting, and willing to do workshops.

This time, gusto ko, seryosohan na, mas magaling."

Among the girls in the "Beautiful Girl" video, si Anne Curtis daw ang pinakamaganda para kay Christian.

Kasama yung managers ko, at yung people from Universal Records. Maraming factors na kinonsider, kasi nariyan yung availability...

"For this video, upgraded and more modern version ito ng music video na ginawa ni Jose Mari Chan noon. Mas marami nga yung kay Jose Mari Chan. Nandun sina Sharon Cuneta, Sheryl Cruz, Vilma Santos.... matitindi!

"And we have two top-of-the-line models, sina Solenn at Georgina. May representative lahat. Perfect!" sambit ni Christian.

The Last Prince will enchant GMA-7 viewers starting January 11

GMA-7 prides itself in bringing to primetime viewing the kingdom of winged creatures in Mulawin, the power of the original Philippine heroine in Darna, the enchanting world of diwatas in Encantadia, the tale fantasy and magic charms in Majika the realm of half-serpentine mortals in Kamandag and the supernatural domain of mythical beings and engkantos in Luna Mystika.

To celebrate its yearlong anniversary this 2010, the Kapuso Network opens the gates of a magical kingdom located in the clouds and introduces Filipino viewers to the The Last Prince.

Leading the grand ensemble of cast is the tandem of Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal as Prinsipe Almiro and Lara, respectively.

Adding star power to this big-budgeted program are cast members such as Eula Valdes as Adela, Carmina Villaroel as Reyna Lamara, Angelu de Leon as Mayang, Chanda Romero as Rosata, Emilio Garcia as Adorno, Benjie Paras as Rizayo, Bianca King as Bawana, Chynna Ortaleza as Lourdes, Paolo Ballesteros as Anexi, Karen delos Reyes as Minnie, Elvis Gutierrez as Guwarko, Bubbles Paraiso as Prinsesa Saraya, Joey Paras as Salim Salamin, Stef Prescott as Naveya, Francis Magundayao as Onuro, Rita Iringan as Gigi and Angeli Nicole Sanoy as Bambi.

Making the initial GMA Telebabad offering even grander is the presence of Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana. They play the important characters of Prinsipe Javino, the rightful heir to the throne and Sonia, the veterinarian who will fall in love with Prinsipe Javino.

The Last Prince also marks the TV comeback of one of the most famous kontrabidas on Philippine television, Princess Punzalan, as she plays the coveted role of Alwana.

The Last Prince tells the fairy tale story of a kingdom in the clouds called Paladino. This magical realm is headed by the noble King Adorno and his beautiful wife Queen Lamara with their three children Prinsesa Saraya, Prinsipe Javino, and Prinsipe Almiro.

The peaceful and perfect life in Paladino is suddenly threatened when Prince Javino went missing. His disappearance is orchestrated by the most powerful and wicked black Diwani named Alwana. Diwanis are the powerful wizards in the kingdom.

Using her black magic and sorcery, Alwana pushes Prince Javino towards the magic mirror, transporting him to the earthly world. She wants him to fall in love with a mortal so she could claim the throne and take over Paladino.

But an unexpected tragedy shatters the mirror and Prince Javino is permanently trapped on earth. The entire kingdom is devastated by news that the Prince is dead. There is instant confusion and disarray in Paladino.

This incident changes the life of the mischievous Prince Almiro. King Adorno immediately declares him successor to the throne, the next king of Paladino.

But Prince Almiro is not yet ready to become a king. So the head Diwani Rizayo suggests he gets married. All the maidens in the kingdom were called so Prince Almiro could choose his lucky bride.

Once of those who came is Bawana, the daughter of Alwana. Because of her hideous face, Alwana uses her magic to make Bawana look beautiful. But Prince Almiro discovers their deception and he sends her away.

Bawana is enraged so she puts a curse on Prince Almiro. His face becomes distorted and only true love could break the curse.

So Prince Almiro, together with his three loyal allies Rosata, Onuro, Anexi, sets off to the mortal world to fulfill his mission. But Bawana gives him only three chances to find his woman.

By means of Bawana's curse, they were trapped in a magical mansion and once inside, Prince Almiro's warped face disappears but once outside, his cursed face is revealed.

On his third and final attempt, Prince Almiro meets Lara. Despite his horrible face, the kind-hearted and simple Lara falls in love with him.

Can Lara's kiss finally break Bawana's curse on Prince Almiro?

It turns out that Prince Javino is still alive and suffers from the new spell of Bawana. Can the two brothers destroy the evil Alwana and her daughter Bawana? Will Prince Almiro give up the throne for his love Lara? Will the peace and order return in the Kingdom of Paladino?

The Last Prince is megged by Mac Alejandre, seasoned headwriter Rj Nuevas, set designer Richard Somes, who won in the recently-concluded Metro Manila Film Festival 2009 as Best Festival Production Designer for Ang Panday and Roy Red as production designer. The fabulous costumes were made by fashion designer Jerome Ang, who represented the Philippines in various international fashion design competitions and Aries Lagat, the grand winner in Project Runway Philippines Season 1.

Enter the magical kingdom of Paladino through The Last Prince beginning Monday, January 11, right after Darna on GMA Telebabad.

PBB Double Up housemates feel the wrath of "Typhoon Walay"

The wacky tandem of Melisa Canteveros and Jason Francisco in Pinoy Big Brother Double Up was torn apart by "Typhoon Walay," a twist that sent the girls of House A to House B and vice-versa. Walay is actually short for hiwalay or separation.

The two, who had been joined at the hip since they met each other inside the house, are now trying to get used to being without each other.

But Melai and Jason aren't the only ones missing each other. Other housemates have also shown their longing for their true housemates. Upon moving into House A, the house B girls went to the common wall and did the House B cheer, which the House B boys also did upon hearing them.

Meanwhile, the House A boys also kept wondering if their friends were alright with their new guy housemate, and wondered if they were missed. Surely enough, the House A girls thought nothing but the good old times with them. Melai, missed her small talks with Jason and worried about who will take care of him. Rica Paras, on the other hand, missed the boys since they treated her there as one of the girls.

Carol Batay, on the other hand, felt reunited with her old buddies in her old house most especially Hermes Bautista. Cathy Remperas also felt comfortable hanging out and chatting with her new-found friends.

House B girls Yuri Okawa, Marielle Sorino, and Kath Lopena-Ortega, meanwhile, got a warm welcome from the House A boys who cleaned the house and even prepared a late dinner for the new girls.

Meanwhile, apart from adjusting to new housemates, Jason, Carol, Rob Stumvoll, and Patrick Villanueva are also busy making most of the week as they are all nominated for eviction.

Join Mariel Rodriguez in Uber after Banana Split Daily Servings, Toni Gonzaga in PBB Double Up after Dahil May Isang Ikaw, and Bianca Gonzalez in PBB Double Uplate, every after midnight. Catch the 24/7 live streaming on Skycable Ch. 150.

The top-rated TV offerings of 2009

2009 was a great year for the Kapamilya and Kapuso networks. Both ABS-CBN and GMA-7 offered highly-anticipated shows that claimed ratings supremacy. A new contender to the ratings war, TV5, also emerged as a worthy competitor this year.

Cutthroat competition was so fierce that the list of top shows ranked by market researchers TNS and AGB Nielsen, and published here in PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), tended to vary from week to week.

Over at GMA-7, Marian Rivera's Darna proved to be a strong force in the primetime block. Other primetime offerings like the remakes of Stairway to Heaven and LaLola, the second season of Survivor Philippines, and a roster of other shows gained good ratings as well.

At ABS-CBN, meanwhile, primetime viewers were treated to new shows like Tayong Dalawa and May Bukas Pa. The year's version of reality show Pinoy Big Brother, and showbiz news program SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon, also claimed good ratings. Other shows reached top ten status as well.

Daytime ratings in 2009 was also competitive. TNS and AGB often did not agree on whether it was Eat Bulaga! or Wowowee that was in the lead. Such was also the case with both networks' daytime soap operas.

News programs like GMA-7's 24 Oras and Saksi, and ABS-CBN's TV Patrol World and Bandila, also gained a lot of viewers from the tumultuous events of the year, such as typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, the death of former President Corazon Aquino, the Maguindanao massacre, and various corruption allegations against MalacaƱang officials.

But new contender TV5 was the home of innovative new shows. There were the "painful" gag show Ogags, the funny primetime "comedy show" Kiddie Kwela, the whatever-goes comedy show Front Act, and the late-night magazine news program TEN: The Evening News. TV5's Talentadong Pinoy, hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, also ruled the Saturday primetime block.

Here are some of the television shows that topped the ten rankings of TV shows by TNS and AGB in 2009, and their numbers during their period of supremacy.

DARNA. The Marian Rivera starrer beat all primetime shows from August 9 to 15 with an average rating of 35.6, according to AGB.

MAY BUKAS PA. The ABS-CBN primetime soap opera posted a high rating of 39.4 percent on May 4, beating all primetime shows, according to TNS.

ZORRO. The GMA-7 remake of the popular classic story of a masked hero hit 33.4 percent on March 27, leading the pack of primetime shows. (AGB)

TAYONG DALAWA. The ABS-CBN drama shared primetime supremacy with May Bukas Pa during the last week of June and first week of July (AGB).

LUNA MYSTIKA. Heart Evangelista's fantasy series on GMA-7 hit a near-40s rating during the second week of January, beating all primetime shows (AGB).

WOWOWEE. Willie Revillame's noontime show led all daytime shows from May 4-7 (TNS).

EAT BULAGA!. The long-running noontime show beat all daytime shows on January 12-14 (AGB).

TALENTADONG PINOY. The TV5 talent show led the Saturday primetime pack on October 24 with a 23.8 percent rating (AGB).

PINOY BIG BROTHER DOUBLE UP. On December 22, the ABS-CBN reality show beat all primetime programs with 31.5 percent (AGB).

DAPAT KA BANG MAHALIN? The Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal daytime soap received impressive primetime-like ratings during its run. It led all daytime programs on June 2 with a rating of 31 percent (AGB).

KAMBAL SA UMA. The ABS-CBN afternoon soap opera starring Melissa Ricks and Shaina Magdayao topped the ratings slot for daytime programs last October 9 ( TNS).

24 ORAS. GMA-7's primetime news broadcast occassionally beat other primetime shows to the top spot (AGB).
V PATROL WORLD. The ABS-CBN primetime newscast consistently led early evening news programs, and occassionally gained primetime supremacy (TNS).

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. The GMA-7 Koreanovela remake topped the ratings game on November 12 (AGB).

ASAP '09. Ratings from TNS also indicated that ABS-CBN's noontime show consistently topped Sunday daytime ratings.

FULL HOUSE. The remake of the hit Koreanovela tied with Darna for the top spot last December 11 (AGB).

SHARON. TNS consistently placed Sharon Cuneta's self-titled talk show on top of all primetime shows on Sunday.

Big Brother tests Melai Cantiveros in Pinoy Big Brother Double Up

The housemates celebrated the holidays inside Big Brother's house and loyal viewers still found the time to watch ABS-CBN's reality program despite the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.

Many of those who were able to watch PBB Double Up this week got worried when Melisa "Mela" Cantiveros thought of making a Voluntary Exit to bring back ex-housemate Patrick Villanueva. Last Saturday (December 26), Melai expressed her guilt over her nomination votes for Patrick. She thought, if she didn't nominate Patrick, he could still be inside the PBB house.

To test Melai's sincerity, Big Brother offered her to take Patrick's place by leaving the house. To make it more convincing, Big Brother asked for the assitance of Rica Paras and Paul Jake Castillo to make the test more realistic. Jason Francisco, Melai's close friend, was worried sick about her decision to leave. Fortunately, Big Brother revealed it was all just a test of character for Melisa.

If Melai survived Kuya's test, Jason, on the other hand, is still in the process of surviving his test and his housemates.

Before Christmas, the Three Kings (Patrick, Hermes Bautista and Johan Santos) gave away "presents" to the housemates. One of which was Melai's date with celebrity Jericho Rosales. Jason was given the chance to own a tricycle, but before he could receive the gift, he must act as his housemates' helper for four days. This includes obeying the housemates ten commandments, waking up before everyone else, and sleeping after everyone had gone to dreamland.

Jason loses a part of his tricycle whenever he fails to do a commandment. The "Boy Astig of Mindoro" expressed his dismay as his housemates allegedly have become abusive of their right to order him.

Will Jason get his tricycle or will he give up on his test?

In celebration of the New Year, the housemates will have a ball and they will have their respective dates for this grand event. This will also serve as the birthday celebration of Tibo Jumalon.

For the latest happenings in Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, join Mariel Rodriguez in Uber after Banana Split Daily Servings, Toni Gonzaga in PBB Double Up on Primetime Bida after Dahil May Isang Ikaw, and Bianca Gonzalez in "PBB Double Uplate" every after midnight. Also catch the streaming on Skycable Ch. 150.

Cristine Reyes chooses to count her blessings

"Kumbaga, halos lahat ng mga showbiz people gustung-gusto makatrabaho si Vic Sotto, 'tapos ako nabigyan ako ng chance to work with him."
