Vice Ganda bites back

After a barrage of negative writeups lately, Vice Ganda finally got back at his detractors spewing venom.

In a recent "Showtime" episode, Vice Ganda went on an outburst.

“Sabihin n’yo na lahat ng sasabihin n’yo sa akin sa dyaryo. Hindi ninyo ako mapapahinto,” he lashed out.

It is recalled that the stand-up comedian was at the center of vicious attacks on tabloids after rumors surfaced that he allegedly invited a male dancer to a sex tryst. The dancer, a member of the Original Egyptians from Calamba, Laguna, reportedly turned him down.

With this, Vice Ganda reportedly got even by giving the group low grade during the weekly finals at the hit show, "Showtime," leading to the group's eventual fall.

And since he was not seen on the show lately, the public was made to believe that he has been sacked, an offshoot of his alleged shenanigans with the handsome dancer.

“Feeling ko naman dina-down nila ako hindi dahil gusto nila akong ma-down. Feeling ko, kaya nila ako dina-down, ang gusto nilang i-down [ay] ang show, ang 'Showtime,'” Vice Ganda explained in an interview on "Showbiz News Ngayon," Feb. 18.

Meanwhile, prior to that brouhaha with the dancer, Vice Ganda had been openly lambasting "Showtime’s" rival show, "Diz Iz It." He was questioning the proper spelling of the new game show of GMA-7 and TAPE, Inc. He said that it should have been "This Is It."

During the same Feb. 18 interview, Vice Ganda did not mince words to clear specifically what he said about "Diz Iz It," which premiered on television two weeks ago.

“Masayang may gumagaya sa inyo, basta sana ganoon din kaganda. Pero dahil hindi naman maganda, nakaka-offend, parang binastos 'yong 'Showtime,' 'yong programang ginawa namin. Pero okay lang 'yan. May you try harder next time,” he said.

Critics have said that fame has finally brought out the "real meanness" in the host’s persona, even as he is rumored to have also created a word war of sorts with fellow comedian, Chokoleit.

Vice Ganda later dismissed the rumor that fellow comedian Chokoleit got insecure over his new-found popularity.

“Ayokong sabihing naiingit siya sa akin. Alam ko masaya siya para sa akin kasi 'yong mga tinatamasa ko ngayon ay naranasan [na] niya 'yon. Bago pa ako ay nauna namang sumikat si Chokoleit,” he explained.

Despite all the negative press hounding Vice Ganda, "Showtime" has nevertheless been consistently rating very well since it premiered on Oct. 24.

It generated controversy when it was slapped with a 20-day suspension by the MTRCB after its guest judge, former sexy star Rosanna Roces lambasted the country's educators on national television.

"Showtime" returned on air soon after.
