Bea Alonzo’s life colors

With the success of Bea Alonzo’s latest movie “Miss You Like Crazy” which reunited her with Box-Office King John Lloyd Cruz (they were last seen together in “One More Chance,” also from Star Cinema and the Philippine adaptation of “I Love Betty La Fea”), Bea’s life colors have become brighter.

Despite being loveless, Bea expressed her life to be “colorful. Lagi namang colorful. Depende, may purple, may pink, may rainbow, minsan may dark, gray, black.

To add more color to her life, she was chosen to be the newest celebrity endorser of Moisture Intense Lipstick of Colour Collection from the premier cosmetics line of Tupperware Brands Philippines. To this, Bea said, “I love it. It’s a pleasure na maihelera kina Mikee (Cojuangco), Isabel (Oli) and Georgina (Wilson). Plus, being a celebrity, I think it’s my responsibility to my public to give them something that I would use too.”

At the recent press launch held at the Bahia Rooftop of Intercontinental Hotel in Makati, Bea shared her favorite products in time for summer. “I think perfect for summer ang Moisture Intense Purple Paradise lipstick because it’s more natural. What I love about Colour Collection is that it protects the skin, lalo na ako I’m exposed to the sun lagi. As an actress, dapat unahin mo ang physical [aspect] and makeup helps a lot everyday. Kapag lumalabas ako ng house without make up, even lipstick, I feel naked,” she said.
Going for more
mature roles

Bea, only 22, has not only become one of the country’s finest actresses, but also a sought-after endorser, host, and singer. But what makes Bea fulfilled these days is the fact that she is growing more mature as an actress.

She said, “Natutuwa ako kasi parang nabi-break ko na yung mababait kong characters, yung mga usual prim and proper characters ko. I’m so happy kasi somehow nagma-mature na ako. I’m happy and excited [for more mature roles in the future].”

Bea is set to do a teleserye with Gretchen Barretto (the supposed Claudine-Gretchen Barretto tandem didn’t materialize because of the younger Barretto’s transfer to GMA-7). While doing the teleserye (which as of press time has a working title “Magkaribal”), Bea revealed that she will do another Star Cinema movie, “Sa’yo Lamang” to be helmed by Laurice Guillen. According to her, she will be working with Lorna Tolentino, Coco Martin, Erich Gonzales, Enchong Dee among others. “It’s a family drama. Parang ito yung sagot ni direk [Laurice] after ‘Tanging Yaman,’” she related.

This Holy Week, Bea revealed that she will be working as part of the Heartthrobs concert in the US. “Wala akong vacation. Every year ganoon naman. We will be touring six cities in the US. This time, bukod sa heartthrobs Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby, also with us are John Lloyd Cruz, Pokwang, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Richard Poon.”

Bea added, “It’s nice to be a guest sa mga concerts nila. Yung mga frustrations mo kapag nagvi-video-oke ka dun mo nailalabas and you’re getting paid for it. Tapos nakakapunta ka sa mga places you’ve never been before. So ang saya.”

Enzo Pineda: 1st Prince on the rise

Enzo Pineda may not have won the coveted title of Ultimate Male Sole Survivor in the recently concluded “StarStruck V,” but from the fans’ screams and cheers on him during the Kapuso celebration of the Panaad Festival last March 20 at the SM City Bacolod and Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City, it felt that he was the “sole winner.”

According to him, it was an unexpected reception from the Negrense fans. Their energy was inspiring not only for him but also his “StarStruck V” colleagues with him during the Panaad Festival – Sarah Lahbati, Diva Montelaba, Roco Nacino and Sef Cadayona.

“It’s flattering to have such warm reception from them,” said Enzo in Filipino.

So has he gotten over with not winning the “Ultimate Male Sole Survivor” title?

“Well, I didn’t get frustrated after I didn’t win. The important thing is that I was able to show what I can do and stand out as Enzo. Reaching the finals only meant that I was worth a shot in showbiz,” he replied.

Unlike other young actors who pursued their dream as actors while they were still kids, Enzo can be called a late bloomer. According to him he was only able to amass enough confidence to try out showbiz when he was already in college. And this eventually led to him auditioning and being accepted in the Final 14 of the recently concluded “StarStruck V.”

Looking back he added that he regretted not reaching his dream when he was still in high school or even elementary by joining a dance troupe or a theater guild. For him, he was very lucky and grateful to have parents who gave their utmost support to his showbiz endeavor.

“It has always been my personal goal to be an actor. My parents have businesses and I know they also want me to be a businessman someday. But I want to focus now with my showbiz career. I want to work hard and prove myself,” he explained.

Though the whole “StarStruck V” was a training field for all of the Final 14 competitors, honing his skills didn’t stop there. All the Top 5 winners were given a week-long workshop in acting with no other than one of the country’s most respected dramatic actresses, Ms. Gina Alajar. And he learned a lot from her as he discovered more that he really wants to be a dramatic actor!

“From the workshop, I discovered that acting is one long and tedious process… I really want to portray different roles especially not ordinary roles like a super hero in a ‘telefantasya.’ Of course we all want to play lead roles but I like to portray different characters… when we started in our workshops, I fell in love more with acting,” he exclaimed.

The challenge for him is to portray his roles well and make his audience or viewers feel his emotions with his “real acting.” Though he has made a name for himself as a dancer, Enzo sees himself as an actor. With regards to singing, it is a remote possibility but a talent he would like to excel in too someday.

At the moment, Enzo is in GMA-7’s newest Sunday variety show “Party Pilipinas” with the rest of “StarStruck V’s” Top 5 finalists and a few other members of the Final 14.

“I’m really thankful with the blessings I’m getting so far… the only difference with my not winning is not getting the money and the title. Like what the judges said, the real challenge lies after ‘StarStruck.’ And for me that’s true because right now we have different career plans. It’s up to us where we want to go with our careers. It’s up to us to get to be stars and the network and GMA Artist Center are here to guide us and give us the opportunities,” Enzo remarked.

With his drive and passion in acting, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see Enzo in more GMA-7 shows because he is a “StarStruck V’s” 1st Prince ON THE RISE!

Toni Gonzaga, Vice Ganda up the ante

Toni Gonzaga has a ‘smack only policy’ with Robin Padilla

Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga said she will apply the “smack only policy” to her new leading man, Robin Padilla.

The new pair will reportedly share some passionate kissing scenes for their first movie project together under the direction of Joyce Bernal—an idea Toni seemed nervous about.

“Ayoko po munang isipin ‘yun. Magkikita rin naman tayo sa ending. Basta we’ll see,” she coyly said on “Entertainment Live.”

Robin, in a separate interview, assured his young leading lady that he would be a “gentleman.”

Ako’y magiging maginoo,'” he said.

The two have already started filming scenes for the still-untitled movie.

Vice Ganda admits leveling up his talent fee

Popular comedian Vice Ganda admitted on “Entertainment Live” that with all the successes he is currently enjoying and working hard for, his talent fee has increased as well.

The unstoppable “Showtime” judge is turning a year older on March 31.

And his birthday gift for himself? A “kalesa”—rather timely, since Vice has coincidentally been tapped to reprise the role of Roderick Paulate as “Petrang Kabayo.”

Katrina Halili cries foul over critics’ claims

Sexy actress Katrina Halili cried foul over allegations that she is selling her properties due to financial instability.

She also denied benefiting from a certain “Dirty Old Man.”

Katrina said she has only ever solicited financial help from other people just once.

“Never akong humihingi ng tulong kahit kanino, isang beses lang [nung nagkasakit ang] lola ko,” she said.

She also refused to reveal more names of those who have extended their help to her—save for the mother of one of her friends and the mayor of Palawan, where she was raised.

While she may have had previous money problems, Katrina asserts, “Financially, okay na po ako.”

However, the 24-year-old actress turned emotional in recalling how she had overcome difficult times in her life.

“Ayoko na… hindi kasi ako nagpapaawa sa tao, eh,” a tearful Katrina said, turning away from the camera.

Sarah Geronimo benefits from Judy Ann’s pregnancy

Although some stars get irked when the filming of their movie is rushed for any reason, it is not so with Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo.

Sarah is actually ecstatic that work in her forthcoming movie “Hating Magkapatid” has been accelerated because of her co-star Judy Ann Santos’ pregnancy.

Two days lang kasi siya pwedeng magtrabaho sa isang linggo at may cut off yung oras ng trabaho kaya pati kami, damay sa paguwi ng maaga,” she said in an interview held March 27.

Sarah added that Judy Ann is fond of pinching people in the set nowadays; a part, perhaps, of her “paglilihi.” She said she would readily accept Judy Ann’s offer to become one of the godmothers of her baby if told so.

Recall that during the weeks the media were speculating on Judy Ann’s pregnancy, Sarah kept tight-lipped about the matter despite being one of the first people who was privy to the information.

On other matters, Sarah admitted that she and Filipino-Italian actor-racer Matteo Guidicelli have been texting each other lately and are even Facebook friends.

“I learned about his birthday through Facebook so I BBM-ed him a greeting. Sumagot naman siya ng ‘Thank you’ pero that was it. No, hindi siya nanliligaw,” she said.

The two met in Sarah’s concert in Cebu where Matteo watched upon the invitation of his friend, singer Billy Crawford. Rumors about Sarah and Matteo flew fast after it was reported that Matteo asked to be introduced to Sarah’s parents backstage.

Did Matteo really give her flowers?

“Susmaryosep! Wala!”

Sarah turned serious when asked to comment about talks that she earned a bundle of money from endorsing presidentiable Manny Villar and vice-presidentiable Loren Legarda.

Sarah recently recorded a new version of her hit song “Ikaw Lamang” with new lyrics for use as Legarda’s latest campaign song. They shot its music video in Tanay, Rizal.

One of Loren’s advocacies that Sarah strongly believes in is the caring for the plight of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

“Lalo na yung mga babaeng OFWs. Alam naman nating maraming kababaihan ang namamaltrato ng mga amo nila abroad,” Sarah was quoted as saying.

Sarah and Loren called on the country to participate in the Earth Hour Saturday, March 27.

Jason Abalos joins ‘Agua Bendita’ soon

THE 24-year-old actor Jason Abalos is excited as his character will resurface in the hit ABS-CBN teleserye “Agua Bendita.”

If the lead young star Andi Eigenmann was finally launched Friday evening as the teen Agua and Bendita, Jason said he will appear in the teleserye in the coming days.Jason will replace the character of Paco played by Maliksi Morales in the program.

The actor said he is happy to step in the story and that he is actually a fan of the kids who played their roles.

Jasono told Sun.Star that he's looking at the positive side when their launch was delayed for two weeks.

Jason admitted that he was scared during the first week because the ratings were really high and he fears that when they take on the role, the show's trend may decline.

The actor and the rest of the “Agua Bendita” team underwent more workshops and trainings to further perfect their skills in acting.

He said they are watching the soap every night to make sure that there will be continuity on their character.

Jason and another lead star Matteo Guidicelli is expected to enter the soap before the network's programming will change for the Holy Week.

Saka na raw niya haharapin muli ang lovelife when the right girl comes along.

May ilang buwan na rin siyang nagho-host ng game show na Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

It was no big deal.

Go! Ha! Ha! Ha!”

So, nagugulo. At least ako ‘eto, what you see is what you get.

Maraming sacrifices talaga. Pero everything naman is worth it kasi I am bringing a baby sa mundong ito.

So I feel na it’s time. At saka, ilang taon naman na ako? I’m in my early 30’s na.

“What’s important is nandiyan siya parati for us. Nasabi nga niya na he will be here sa US in time sa pagkapanganak ko. So mabubuo pa rin kaming dalawa when the baby comes out to the world,” ngiti pa niya.

Kelan ang balak nilang pagpapakasal?

“Siyempre, isa-isa muna tayo. Paplanuhin muna namin ‘yan. Right now, itong baby ang inuuna namin. We are both praying for a healthy and happy baby.

Imagine that? After lahat nang mga pinaggagawa ko sa sarili ko all these years, heto at mabubuntis din pala ako. But no regrets. Ito na siguro ang tinakda sa akin ni Lord and this is something that you will have forever.
