Mark Herras and Pauleen Luna have mixed emotions on Ikaw Sana's wrap-up

Mark Herras admitted he feels sad now that Ikaw Sana is nearing its conclusion.

"Siyempre malungkot. Ang tagal ding tumakbo ng Ikaw Sana. Nung unang extension nito, parang two or three weeks lang yata. Pero nag-extend kami nang sobra-sobra hanggang umabot kami ng February. February kasi yung [last] airing. Siyempre nakakalungkot," Mark Herras told PEP (Philippine Portal Entertainment) during a set visit at Subic, where they were shooting the last few scenes of Ikaw Sana, last Friday, January 29.

"Pero siyempre," he added, "I'm happy dahil nakagawa na naman kami ng isang show na parang marami ring natuwa. And for the fans of Mark and Jen na loveteam, I'm happy dahil napagbigyan namin sila."

Ikaw Sana, GMA-7's early primetime offering is being topbilled by StarStruck loveteam and ex-couple Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado, together with Pauleen Luna in her first-ever major kontrabida role.

Pauleen shares the same sentiments of happiness and sadness now that they are down to only one taping day for Ikaw Sana.

"Masaya [ang taping], as always. Pero ngayon, feeling ko, magiging malungkot pa kami dahil last na namin. We've been together for almost five months. Ang tagal din. Tapos three times a week nagkikita talaga kami. So, nakakalungkot. Kasi especially the crew, sila pa kasi yung sa Adik Sa 'Yo... Sobrang napamahal na talaga sila sa akin. So siguro, maninibago ako for the first few weeks na hindi ko sila makikita."

Direk Joel Lamangan, meanwhile, described how good the working relationship is in Ikaw Sana's set.

"Ang sarap ng samahan namin dito sa Ikaw Sana," he said.

He even nodded in agreement when some members of the press mentioned something about the kids admitting they will miss early wrap-ups of the set.

On a serious note, Direk Joel told the press how he can vouch for the improvement of the younger stars' acting skills in Ikaw Sana, particularly Mark, Jennylyn, and Pauleen.

"Good actors, good attitude, all of them... Jennylyn has matured into a very good actress, so as Pauleen," Direk Joel said.

He later expressed this as one of the reasons he chose Pauleen and Jennylyn to be part of his independent film entry Sigwa in the 6th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

HAPPY OR SAD ENDING? Kapuso fans are surely excited and at the same time sad as Ikaw Sana nears its ending. But what's in store for the viewers in the last week of Ikaw Sana?

"Kung paano magkakabati or magkakaayos ulit si Michael [Mark] and Eliza [Jennylyn]," said Mark. "Kasi it's been a while nung nagkaroon sila ng malaking tampuhan. What's gonna happen between Pauleen [as Sophia] and Jen... What's gonna happen to the families of Montemayor and Olivarez. Kung paano magiging maayos yung takbo ng family. At kung paano magiging malinaw sa lahat, with Eliza, with Michael, kung gaano nila kamahal yung isa't isa. Dapat yun ang abangan nila, bandang dulo, which is okay naman, magandang maganda yung huli."

On Pauleen's part, she said, "Marami... Ayokong sabihin kasi mai-spoil. Pero may shocking revelation talaga na kailangan nilang abangan on the last day."

Catch the last five episodes of Ikaw Sana this February 1 to 5 at GMA Telebabad before 24 Oras.
